Meet Vinod Bansode, the new owner and Head Chef of Diana Downtown. Owning a restaurant has been Vinod’s dream since graduating with a degree in Hotel Management in 1996. His journey has taken him across the world—from working with Carnival Cruise Lines in Miami, to restaurants in Michigan, and managing hotel operations—before ultimately bringing his family to Canada in search of new opportunities. After years in the hospitality industry and seven years working in local restaurants, Vinod and his family are proud to begin this new chapter at Diana Downtown. For Vinod, Diana is more than a restaurant. It’s a place built on community, family, and authentic hospitality. While preserving the dishes that guests have loved for years, he is excited to bring his family’s traditions and passion for Indian cuisine to the table, creating an experience that feels both familiar and new. Together with his wife Ashwini and children Mansee, Pallavi, and Atharv, the Bansode family is honoured to carry on the legacy of Diana Downtown and serve the community that has welcomed them with such warmth.
